Three new awards

On the occasion of the 9the biennial CEWEP-congress (19-21 September, Bilbao), CEWEP introduced 3 new awards, with the aim of rewarding outstanding achievements in three fields: integrationcommunication and innovation.

ECLUSE is a vying for the Integration Award

Waste-to-Energy is not a stand-alone technology. It is an integral part of waste and energy systems that provide for modern life: it takes the residues of the contemporary lifestyle and turns them into energy for heating and cooling, electrical devices, transport, etc. It makes the whole urban systems run in a sustainable manner and is an integral part of the urban community. Communication and Innovation

The communication award recognizes creative and engaging communication examples that help to achieve public awareness and acceptance for Waste-to-Energy as a sustainable treatment method for non-recyclable waste. They pave the way for good contacts with the policy makers. The Waste-to-Energy sector is innovative and open minded. It uses the newest research and development to achieve highest energy efficiency with smallest burden for the environment. For this reason, CEWEP believes that good practices in innovation should be rewarded with a prize.

The 200 participants to the Bilbao conference will have the opportunity to vote for one of the finalists in each of the categories.
